Speaker: Gabe Zichermann
Speaker: Dr. Mary Donohue
Dr. Mary Donohue, a social scientist who specializes in evolutionary psychology, uses her research to explain your brain and your brain on technology. This presentation is based on her annual workplace research. Dr. Mary helps you understand why you do what you do at work and why others respond to you, the way they do.
She explains the framework of cross-generational friction, and how to use traits of every cohort to transform what many consider a communication and societal gap, into productive strengths.
Speaker: Ron Tite
Low production costs, easy distribution, and suddenly, everyone’s a creator. Consumers can now fill their day with content dedicated to their hobbies, passions, and the things that interest them most. For business, that’s a problem.
Consumers used to vote with their wallets. Now, they vote with their time. And you know who’s winning the battle for time? Other consumers.
Right now, your customers are more creative than you are. They’re more innovative than you are. They’re more authentic than you are. Often, they’re even more helpful than you are.
In the battle for time, your competition isn’t the category leader–it’s the consumers. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a product, pitching a new idea, or trying to get a raise, your biggest challenge is getting a customer to willingly give you the time to do it.
Ron Tite’s humorous and insightful talk helps people learn how to win other people’s time. Highlighting operational and personal innovation, authenticity, creativity, and more, Ron teaches individuals how to act like customers by being more interesting and thus, win more of their customer’s time.
Speaker: The Right Hon. Brian Mulroney
The reception and dinner marks the closing of the 91st Annual Executive Conference. Try Scotch tasting, or have a Vesper Martini from the Martini bar! Start your evening in style.
Highly regarded as the go-to industry dinner of preference for trucking executives, the OTA Awards Dinner highlights the best of our industry in unforgettable style. The evening will honor the 2017 Volvo Trucks Canada-OTA Ontario Driver of the Year, 2017 Bridgestone-OTA Highway Hero and the Shaw Tracking-OTA Service to Industry award recipients.
Following the awards presentation, comedian Jonny Harris, will entertain the audience with his wit and humour.
